Rustic, honest wine from Iole Rabasco’s biodynamically-farmed, hilly vineyards tucked between the Adriatic and the Gran Sasso mountains. The 10-hectare family farm includes about 8 hectares’ worth of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo and Montepulciano vines planted 300-450m above sea level. The vineyards are broken up into four plots: La Salita, San Desidero, La Conchetta, and Cancelli (map linked in QR code). Average vine age is close to 50 years old and most vines are ungrafted. “Niente chimica ne’ in vigna ne’ in cantina” as the labels say: none of the vines has ever seen synthetics and the wines see no additions, temperature control, or filtration.

Iole abandoned a law career after only a couple of years, deciding instead to dedicate her life to farming her family’s land after she inherited it. Her farming has become increasingly holistic, incorporating many biodynamic practices over the past decade and minimizing the use of even organically-allowed sulfur in the vineyards.
