This 15 hectare estate was started in 1997 by Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer. Philippe left after a couple of years and Sophie made the wine on her own until 2010, when she brought in Julien Albertus, who quickly transitioned the farming practices to organics with a focus on soil health as a means of balance in the vineyard, nutrition in the vines, and flavors in the wine. Minimal plowing is done in order to preserve life in the topsoil, and cover crops are either allowed to flourish naturally or are planted (legumes, cereals, etc.) in order to add various nutrients to the soil. Soils are mostly made up of clay-limestone. All wines are made without any additions since 2016.

Julien farms just over 15 hectares of organic vineyards (using Biodynamic practices as well) spread across 70 plots in five communes/towns and make wine in the small town of Rosheim in Alsace, just to the Southwest of Strausbourg.
