Matteo is the fourth generation of the Furlani family to farm this land way up in the Dolomites (2,100 ft up). None of the previous generations used synthetics on their vines, but Matteo doubled down and began incorporating some biodynamic techniques as well. Soils are clay over schist and broken granite. All fermentation takes place without temperature control and without sulfur.
