Started as a collaboration between Danilo Nofrini (now retired), his children Rachele and Simone, and Danilo Marcucci (now more consulting than present) is an homage to the historic “contadino” wines of Umbria. The Nofrinis, who have lived on this 5 hectares for generations, and Marcucci created an agricultural program that aims at wines that transcend fashions, trends and judgements. Wines born of the land, and of a simple story from the Umbrian countryside. They previously sold their grapes to local cantinas and saved the money they made from that to build their own cantina and eventually make and bottle their own contidino-style wine with Danilo Marcucci’s help. Simone and Rachele's kids are now involved and the family has friends and neighbors come help for harvest. The land is pretty remote, with the winery perched high (600m!) on a hilltop overlooking lago di Trasimeno.
